UAE Offers Condolences to Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said Over Flood Victims

President Sheikh Mohamed of the UAE expressed his condolences to Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said of Oman following devastating floods in the country. He also wished a speedy recovery to those injured. UAE Vice-Presidents, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, also conveyed similar messages to the Sultan of Oman.

Oman experienced heavy rainfall, resulting in severe flooding in numerous areas. The Royal Oman Police promptly rescued school students trapped in buses, families stranded in flooded homes, and drivers caught in swift water currents. Teams from the Royal Oman Police, the Royal Army of Oman, and the Civil Defence Authority evacuated students to safer locations. Additionally, residents assisted stranded individuals in their vehicles.

Despite ongoing heavy rainfall, the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) discovered the body of a missing person in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate. The death toll from the adverse weather rose to thirteen, including nine students, two residents, and one expatriate, as reported by the National Committee for Emergency Management.

The leadership of the UAE stands in solidarity with Oman during this challenging period and extends sympathy for the loss and suffering caused by the floods.
